I am drawn to colour and pattern. My mosaics are full of swirls and curves and I love the
challenge of using square pieces of glass to create organic flowing forms.
I began in 2015 as a self-taught mosaic artist, with qualifications and a background in textiles, photography
and graphics. Recently I have studied online with renown mosaicists Catilin Hepworth and Gary Drostle and in summer 2023 I will be travelling to Ravenna, Italy to study traditional mosaic techniques using the hammer and hardie with Koko Studio.
I spent my early adult years moving frequently, including living in various
parts of the USA for 9 years. While living in San Diego California I often visited artist Niki De
Saint Phalle’s Queen Califia’s Magical Circle sculpture garden. Her huge magical mosaic
sculptures left a lasting impact on me. Like most mosaic artists I am a self-confessed magpie
or Womble and rarely leave a charity shop or trip to the beach empty handed!
When I am not creating my own work, I enjoy working with others producing community
mosaics. I also run regular workshops for small groups in my North Devon studio.
