Workshop description:
Learn the skills and strategies to effectively engage the wider community in the creation of community mosaic projects. A nourishing and meaningful process with a lasting creative outcome.
This workshop is designed for those of you who are interested in working collaboratively with diverse community groups, schools, locally and on a global scale.
You will dissect the steps necessary to successfully facilitate a community mosaic project, including ideas development, project planning, defining and engaging participant groups, selecting a suitable location, construction and installation methods, promotion, and workshop facilitation. You will also be encouraged to develop your ideas for a project of your own.
In the latter half of the workshop, you will work collaboratively alongside other BAMM members and the Newport community in a collaborative making session, bringing together mosaic contributions from other workshops on the day to create a mosaic inspired by the Budd mosaics of Newport that will be left as a legacy from the BAMM Newport Event.
