For me, mosaic art is not a separate discipline; it is the ultimate evolution of the 'paper collage' technique in illustration and the visual equivalent of 'meaningful cuts' in cinematic montage.In the process of creation, I strive for my work to be rhythmic and melodic rather than being bound by the cold, rigid constraints of mathematics. I believe that a mosaic should sing like a piece of music, not follow a dry set of geometric rules. This philosophy is why you will find no straight lines in my work. Just as I reject simple, linear narratives in cinema, I avoid the mechanical precision of straight edges in my mosaics, preferring a fluid and organic resonance.I firmly believe that mosaic art originates from music, not mathematics.
