About BAMM

BAMM aims to promote, encourage and support contemporary mosaic art.

Founded in 1999, The British Association for Modern Mosaic (BAMM) is a membership association which aims to promote, encourage and support excellence in contemporary mosaic art in order to raise public awareness of mosaic and of the artists creating it. It does this through exhibitions, publications, events and related educational activities. BAMM is active in documenting the existence of modern mosaics and championing the conservation and restoration of them to preserve them for future generations.

BAMM is open to everyone with an interest in contemporary mosaic art. It brings together artists, collectors, students of mosaic and enthusiastic learners and gives them the opportunity to share their interest and knowledge of all things tesserae. Whatever your level of knowledge and experience you would be welcomed as a member of BAMM.

Our Values

BAMM Values

Sharing knowledge and ideas

Members are encouraged to be generous in exchanging their expertise, techniques and insights; to continue to learn; and to encourage and support others to learn. It needs us to be open minded and to respect each other’s differences, especially in individual’s mosaic practice and aims and ambitions.

Engaging

BAMM and its members thrive when we come together in creative collaborations. Through joint projects, events and exhibitions we foster an environment in which new ideas, creative expression and best practice can flourish. This can happen at all levels – personal, local, regional and national.

Outward looking

BAMM looks for opportunities to promote mosaic to a wider audience through collaboration with other like minded groups at national and local level (eg Art UK, Asprom and local museums and galleries). And helps to preserve existing mosaic heritage for future generations.
