Having taken her foundation studies in fine art at West Surrey College of Art and Design, Annaliese Brown decided that a break in studies was in order, and began working in the real world. A brief 37 years later, she moved to Ireland with her husband, giving up all that normal stuff to take a BA in Contemporary Art at the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) and revisit her love of creating. It was a weekend course in Mosaic that kindled her interest in this particular medium, and a lifelong love of the works of J R R Tolkien has inspired her recent work. She was thrilled to exhibit at the Medicine Bakery in Birmingham in 2019, during the 50th Anniversary Tolkien Conference. Annaliese has completed several mosaic commissions and has exhibited her work at local markets in her home town of Swinford County Mayo. Keen to expand and develop, she is never content with standing still and is always looking for her next engaging project.
