Debbie Ryan Mosaics

Debbie is a visual artist with over 14 years of experience of designing and producing mosaic installations commissioned for public, private and educational contexts. Debbie has worked with a range of clients to meet project objectives and make their ideas a reality, resulting in the creation of distinctive artwork. Creative workshops and design consultation can be also carried out, to ensure engagement and participation are integral to each artwork project. At her studio, Debbie designs and produces her mosaics, often integrating participant artwork into the final design whether possible. Which is then transported and installed appropriately to each site. Resulting in the least disruption during installation. Debbie has an extensive record of working with architects, structural engineers, and other designers. Possessing an excellent track record of delivering commissions on budget and within given timescales. Debbie’s work has been created for a wide range of projects and has exhibited internationally in China and New Zealand. Debbie’s studio practise has been based in Scotland for over four years, and has a studio space in Glasgow. Her most recent creation was a large mosaic sculpture which took the form of a life-sized lion called Clyde. Projects Clyde Life-sized lion sculpture commissioned by South Lanarkshire Council, which raised over £6,600 when sold in a charity auction. Oor Wullie Bucket Trail Commissioned to create a mosaic sculpture for the Dundee public art trail event, the mosaic sculpture raised over £11,000 when sold in a charity auction. Brighter Bervie Commissioned to create exterior sculptures for public art trail for the town of Bervie. Forth Road Bridge Festival Engaged 700+ participants to create a public art sculpture. Muriwai Earthskin Project Created several mosaic panels with the local, rurally based community of Muriwai, New Zealand. Aintree Hospital Commission to create collaborative public art with physiotherapy centre staff. Knowsley Borough Council Public art mosaic mural, (8m x 4m in size) for Knowsley Centre for Learning. Higher Folds Sculpture Creation of a coat of arms mosaic through consultation with a local estate in Leigh. North Huyton Health Centre Commissioned to create health-themed mosaic sculpture with local youth groups. Business Connect Commissioned by Liverpool Vision to create public art trail sculpture. Berrybridge Housing Created Public art sculpture with Blueberry Park primary school in Huyton. Museum of Science & Industry Wall panel mosaic to commemorate Manchester’s Innovations. Museum of Liverpool Artwork for museum atrium, made with Barnardos young carers. Halewood Ranger Service Mosaics for sculpture trail made with young people and centre users. Liverpool Youth Service Worked with twenty-five excluded young people, who created their own mosaic. Marie Curie Project Created mosaics with young people for Liverpool hospice and Greenbank Park.
