Walker Christine

I have been making mosaic since 2000 in my Brighton workshop and exhibited in Brighton and Shoreham as part of annual "Open House" festivals. I have undertaken 3 public commissions associated with children's designs at schools and a Fostering Centre, as well as a number of private commissions for framed panels. My degree in textile design has enabled me to explore mosaic as a creative medium and I enjoy working with colour and surface texture. I work mostly with ceramic wall tiles and mirror. I spent most of 2013 mosaicing a children's playground. For the last 2 years I have been running workshops for the WI, the Mini Maker Faire in Brighton and for the Ascension Church in Withdean, Brighton. For Brighton Fringe Festival 2016 in May I am constructing sensory mosaics for the East Sussex Institute for the Blind and RNIB.
