Con Kiernan

I have exhibited in the Ron Sang private exhibition in Auckland several times and at Compendium's "Fit for A Queen" exhibition opened by the British Ambassador. I have also exhibited and demonstrated the mosaic artform at the Pakuranga and Eastridge Malls, the Waikato Home and Garden Show and the Taupo Home Show and many other independent shows where I ‘do’ mosaic art in front of visiting guests. I showed at the 2004 Ellerslie Flower Show as an independent artist to publically promote my work and the concept of Mosaic as a genuine form of art; commissions from the event kept me going for a year.  I attended the International Symposium on Mosaic Art in Melbourne in October 2004 and showed images of my work. The reaction from my peers was very positive and I now get acknowlegements on the quality of my work from artists around the world. BAMM’s Grout Magazine has done two covers and 2-page outlines of my work which have been especially important; I was asked to represent Oceania as one of six worldwide artists commenting and analysing 1100 International art pieces for a newly formed magazine called ‘Mosaic Art Now’. These were especially important events recognising that what I was doing as an artist was at least OK and contributed greatly to the growth of my art at the same time.
